Tokina Extends Aperture to F-360
on All its Auto-Iris Lenses
Tokina Industrial Inc. has announced that their entire line of auto iris
CCTV lenses now comes with an aperture of up to F-360. By incorporating a
ND Spot Filter, the company has been able to manufacture an F-360 aperture
on all auto iris lenses, both DC and video, since January 2000.
One reason for the change is that at lower apertures, a lens cannot close
down enough no matter how much light is flooding into the lens. However, at
F-360, the lens can close down enough to avoid bright flashes, which would
show up in the monitor or on videotape
The F-360 aperture is a big plus for security professionals because an aperture
of F-360 is necessary when using a lens in cases of bright scene illumination
or highly reflective objects such as snow, asphalt and chrome.
Additional costs involved in adding the new feature will not be passed on to
customers due to Tokinaís commitment to stay competitive.
